The banking job market in Odisha

Odisha’s industrial belt — Rourkela’s steel plant, the aluminium complex at Angul, the mining districts inland — anchors one half of the state’s banking market, generating payroll accounts, contractor banking and working capital demand.

The other half is rural and inclusion-driven. Odisha has one of India’s most active self-help group movements, and SHG bank linkage, microcredit and agricultural lending are central to how district branches operate.
